Volvo reduces CO2 fastest
Volvo reduced the CO2 emissions of its cars more than any other manufacturer in 2010, with a 13.8% drop in just one year.
Volvo was the most improved brand in the top twenty in JATO's latest report, "A Review of CO2 Car Emissions across Europe FY2010", with average emissions of 157.5 g/km CO2.
Along with the DRIVe range, the latest versions of Volvo's Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection petrol engines, coupled with the newly announced higher powered and cleaner diesels, all help towards the further reduction of CO2 emissions.
The DRIVe range is now available in nine models, with seven models falling below 120 g/km, of which three produce just 99 g/km CO2. All of Volvo's DRIVe models have the same style, dynamics and practicality as the rest of the range.
With the Volvo C30, S40 and V50 DRIVe producing only 99 g/km CO2, they can enter London's Congestion Charge Zone for free, and they enjoy free annual road tax.
The Volvo S60, V60, V70 and S80 DRIVe models emit under 120 g/km CO2 meaning they are all free from the first year rate for road tax, and only pay £30 each year thereafter.
