Honda Civic petrol-electric hybrid

Stand 21
The Civic Hybrid uses a mild-hybrid system, which means that the engine and electric motor are integrated and work together to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions. When more performance is required to assist the petrol engine, the electric motor supplies this, using battery power. The high-power battery on board the Civic Hybrid is charged whenever the car slows down, using regenerative braking energy. This is the reason the Civic Hybrid performs best in urban environments, where travel is often stop-start.
A petrol-electric hybrid not only emits low levels of CO2, but it emits very low levels of particulates and NOx, which contribute to poor air quality.
The company firmly believes that petrol-electric hybrid cars are the best current solution to reducing emissions and improving fuel economy, which is why they are bringing to market a new hybrid family car next year, and a hybrid sports car within the next few years.
