The all-new Mazda CX-5 compact crossover SUV, with fuel economy of up to 61.4 mpg and emissions as low as 119 g/km CO₂ in the case of the manual 150 PS 2WD 2.2 diesel model, is now available to pre-order.

Toyota will have a number of green products on display at the Geneva motor show, including the Yaris Hybrid; the FT-Bh concept, a low emissions affordable city car; and the NS4 and FCV-R concepts.

The Fiat 500L - the L stands for ‘Large’ - is the new addition to the 500 range, and it will have its world preview at the Geneva Motor Show on 6 March.

The new Audi A5 Coupe 2.0 TDIe 163 PS returns 64.2 mpg and emits 115 g/km CO₂, while the Audi A5 Sportback 2.0 TDIe 136 PS also returns 64.2 mpg, along with 117 g/km CO₂.

The BMW ActiveHybrid 5 can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 5.9 seconds yet also achieve 44 mpg and cover almost 2.5 miles on electric power alone.

The MINI Roadster is the first open-top two-seater in the brand’s history and will be available with a choice of four petrol and diesel engines from launch, with 62.8 mpg on offer from the MINI Cooper SD Roadster.

Ford’s turbocharged, direct injection 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine goes on sale across the Ford Focus range in the UK next month, offering up to 58.9 mpg and CO₂ emissions as low as 109 g/km.

Audi has launched the biturbo V6 TDI engine, with a 0-62 mph time of 5.1 seconds yet also returning up to 44.1 mpg, in the A6 Saloon, Avant, allroad and A7 Sportback ranges – all with the quattro four-wheel drive system.

The Subaru XV crossover, in 2.0 diesel guise, offers fuel economy of 50.4 mpg with emissions of 146 g/km CO₂.
