Following re-homologation the 1.6HDi and 2.0HDi C4 Picasso and C4 Grand Picasso models now have revised fuel consumption ratings.

With a combined CO₂ rating of just 105g/km, the latest Vauxhall Corsa ecoFLEX shaves a healthy 14g/km off the outgoing model’s emissions figure, and now achieves 85.6mpg on the Government’s extra urban fuel cycle – an improvement of over 13 per cent.

Following on from minor revisions last July which included the addition of the 2.0-litre HDi FAP Euro 5 specification engine which is capable of 50.4mpg - 150g/km of CO₂, Peugeot have now added a revised 1.6 litre HDi engine which enables the 407 to duck under 130g/km for the first time thanks to a Combined fuel economy of 57.6mpg with CO₂ emissions of 129g/km.

As well as focusing on reducing exhaust pipe CO2 emissions, manufacturers have been working hard on reducing the emissions from manufacturing them too. The Society for Motor Manufacturers and Traders published its eighth annual sustainability report in October 2007.
